 WEATHER

Types - Snow, Rain, Storm, Sand Storm (Haboobs), Wind Storms

My thought as far as weather is that weather will have an influence on players and their weapons.

Snow - Weapons take longer to overheat
Rain - Weapons take longer to overheat
Storm - Weapons take longer to overheat/shield regen takes longer due to EM interference from lightning
Sand Storm - Projectile weapons occasionally jam due to grit getting in the mechanics/reduced visibility for all players/decreased scan profile bonus for all players

Wind Storm - Slight movement penalty for all players/Vehicles are buffeted by wind

 PLANET TYPE

Types - Temperate, Plasma/Storm, Lava, Water, Ice, Desert

My thought as far as planet types is that they too will have and influence on players and their weapons.

Temperate - Weather varies so the only influence will be from the weather at the current time
Plasma/Storm - EM interference causes false radar signatures/longer shield regen times/smaller scan profiles
Lava - Weapons overheat quickly/armor regens slowly with repairers
Water - Weapons take longer to overheat due to high humidity/perhaps some condensation on the players' "visors"
Ice - Weapons take longer to overheat/cloaking mods more efficient/perhaps projectile weapons have a shorter range due to higher air density

Desert - Weapons overheat quickly/projectile weapons occasionally jam from dust and sand

I Like the Idea, Just that Every Type of Weather Shouldn't cause you Weapon to take longer to Overheat. Maybe The Rain Could Have Two Types, Water, and Acid. The Acid Rain Burns trough Exposed Armor, and the like. Good Post Though, +1 See, I don't want the environment to directly damage the player, just interfere with. For example on the lava world, the intense heat would put strain on armor plates thus making their repair rate slower, not a constant damage effect. I don't think players will be too enthused if they are killed by the environment - for example lets say I eat through your shields and get you down to 20 armor, but the "acid rain" eats through your exposed unshielded armor and kills your before your shields can regen. |
